T.G.I.F!! It’s cold & rainy outside (they’re even calling for a little bit of snow here, crazy!) today. I’ve been busy (who isn’t, right?) with doing all sorts of happy Christmas things for our boys, and I’ve also been trying to finish up some Christmas shopping too. Time is flying by over here. However, I’m not a big fan of being cold, which is why this sweater is a fantastic mix of classic & cozy. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree

I wanted this cape dress to be the official start of the holidays for Fancy Says Have A Ball. When I saw this on J.Crew, a few months ago, I knew I had to buy it, especially since it was on sale at the time. This is a dress that will take you from one Christmas party to the next. It’s great because you don’t have to wear a coat (or in most cases, keep up with one) to a party. It’s a classic sheath dress topped off with a cape & a bow. What could be better you say? I can’t think of anything more chic to take you into the holiday season.
I am a firm believer in giving each holiday “it’s own time;” however, this Town & Country article pretty much validated that it’s never too early to get into the Christmas spirit. Do you agree? Either way, I can’t wait to unbox all of our decorations, start our Christmas shopping & spread holiday cheer & happiness wherever I go. Thank you, Mom & Dad for a wonderful childhood of memories of Christmas (& Thanksgiving).

T.G.I.F!! This week has flown by for us! We’re planning on a low key weekend around here. Ours will be full of pancakes Saturday morning, lots of coffee & and trying to get Christmas card pictures of our little ones.

Classic Winter White

There’s nothing I love more than wearing “winter white.” It’s so unexpected & “new” feeling on a cold, winters day. I bought this ruffle coat when my husband and I got engaged (circa 2009), and I literally wear it year after year. I have learned everything I know about style & how to shop from my Mom. She and I both invest in the more “classic” pieces so that you can wear them with almost anything in your closet. The best part about shopping for us, is the hunt to find those pieces, at great prices. Well, she’s right, again. Now, I’m just wishing I had bought this coat in the black & grey, too. I love to dress this coat up like this look I’m wearing, but I also love wearing it with my favorite jeans, a great pair of pumps & a cozy sweater, too.

Happy Friday, Friends! We’re finally feeling the crisp, cooler temperatures here, and we’re loving every minute of it. I was so excited about it, that last Sunday, I made a huge pot of homemade chili. Thank you Mom for the best recipe! I’ll post the recipe soon on the blog.

I love decorating with preserved boxwood. I have a little bit all over our house with wreaths & topiaries. You can top this gorgeous wreath off with a bow that matches your Christmas decor, then just hang it on a large mirror or on the back of your front door! I would recommend hanging it inside, since it will not hold up against the outside elements.  You can change the bow out from season to season, too.

I’m pretty sure I haven’t had a pair of pants with an elastic waistband since the 5th grade, except for leggings. Thank you J.Crew for combining style & comfort this holiday season! Ha!

Ruffles + A Bow

Dressing lately has been a little bit tricky since we’ve had a “warm front” during the day time these past few weeks. I’m so ready for boots, cozy sweaters & chic coats, but if you look on the bright side, I will say, it’s a great excuse to wear my Summer tops a little longer. However, I was pretty happy that the temperatures cooled down at night, so I could wear this cute, little bow front coat for our evening out with friends. All in all, it was a perfect outfit for the best double date uptown.
