Happy Friday, Friends! It has been a little bit of a shock this week to be back to our normal routine, especially after such a relaxing vacation in Wintergreen Resort last weekend! I hope y’all had a wonderful week, and that you’re ready for the weekend. Who isn’t? Ha!

Friday Favorites

T.G.I.F!! I hope that everyone had a great week, and is ready the weekend. If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know that we’ve been fighting colds all week, and are finally on the mend. Thank goodness!

Here’s another edition of “Friday Favorites” for you! A little shopping, the best pumpkin crisp recipe (From Southern Living, of course) & more!

We hosted my parents for dinner last Sunday, and I decided to make Southern Living’s “Pumpkin Crisp” recipe. It was so easy to make, and it was delicious!

Since we have two boys, we are able to hand down a lot of clothes to our youngest (thankfully); however, I still like to add a few pieces that are purely his own. This jacket is the absolute cutest, and is definitely being added to his closest! They’re only little once!

Pompom Canvas Storage Baskets

Trust me, I absolutely love seeing the boys having fun, playing & using their imaginations with their toys all over the house; however, I also love to tidy it all up every.single.night. It actually relaxes me, I know, I’m totally weird. I am sort of a neat freak, and that’s why these little baskets are a dream. Baskets that are cute & functional, two of my favorite qualities!

Back to Bows

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now, then you know that I love anything with a bow. That’s why when I saw this sweater, I snagged it on sale last Spring. I felt like it took forever to get marked down. This, this and this are also so cute for similar looks. The bows are such a fun surprise to what looks like an ordinary top/sweater from the front! This sweater is very lightweight, and could be styled year round, even on a cool, Summer evening out. I paired it with crisp, white denim for this look, but you can totally dress it up or down, depending on where you’re headed.

White Pants After Labor Day

Even though I was raised in the South, there’s nothing I love more in my closet than a pair of crisp, white pants to wear during the Fall/Winter! The options are endless when it comes to putting together outfits like this one. I also love layering my Summer tops into the Fall with cardigans/sweaters, but especially a tailored blazer. I truly believe you can never go wrong with a classic navy blazer, as it takes any outfit up a notch. It took me years to find the perfect navy blazer, as I’m extremely picky. This one and this one are very similar options to the one I’m wearing. This might be my favorite outfit post to date because it combines a little bit of everything I love!

Pretty Prints

This outfit is definitely one of my favorites to throw on when I’m short on time for a date night or a Moms night out! You can never go wrong with a silk blouse, skinny jeans & a great pair of heels. I love the majority of polka dot prints, and this silk top was so cute! The bow ties on the shoulders are unexpected & feminine. In my opinion, you can never have too many bows in your closet. I’m thinking of adding this one next. You can easily wear this outfit in the Fall, by just adding a blazer or classic cardigan like this or this one!
These jeans are perfect for chasing your little ones during the day, but you can totally dress them up as well. On a side note, they do run on the small side, so I would go up one size. I love the “whiskered” wash for something new. My favorite finishing touch to this outfit? The shoes, of course! I fell in love with these pom pom heels during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and have them in 2 colors. I don’t wear heels during the day (#momlife), but I definitely wear them every chance I get for a night out!

A Classic Look

If I had to pick just one foolproof outfit in my closet it would be wearing “classic black” from head to toe. When I worked in Marketing, it was one of my favorite outfits to wear. Besides the fact that it makes you look slimmer, it’s timeless & incredibly chic, on everyone. The best part, in my opinion, is that you can wear whatever accessories you want with it, and it always looks amazing, year round. You just can’t go wrong, am I right?
These skinny pants from J.Crew are a must-have in your closet. I bought this top last year from Loft, but this & this are super cute, and this one is just perfect for Fall. This sweater, and this top are on the top of my wish list right now. Oh, and these sandals look like my favorite Loeffler Randall designer (a girl can dream, right?!), but are much more budget-friendly in my book. I bought this handbag during the Nordstrom sale, and it was sold out, but is restocked now (yay!), and is yet another dupe of one of my favorite designer looks/handbags, Givenchy.

Summer Blue & White

School may be right around the corner (which typically makes me only want to think about Fall, no matter how old I get), and Summer is still hot, literally, so that’s why these pants are the right pick for attempting to beat the heat. I love my skinny pants & jeans; however, these wide leg, cropped pants fit the bill when I need to hit the refresh button. They’re on sale, and an alternative to shorts, which I rarely wear anymore. These and these are also great options to choose from, if you like this cropped/wide leg style as much as I do.
I bought this classic top from Loft during a Spring sale, but there are so many great look-alikes out there, like this, this and this one! This one is embroidered, and a great deal to wear now, & put in your closet for next year, too! These kinds of tops are perfect “no-brainer” tops to wear with pretty much everything in your closet.

Statement Earrings

I can’t believe it has almost been a full week in July. However, I’m really excited that it’s a short work week, and the weekend will be here before we know it. This Summer is seriously flying by for us. How about you?

While I’m a creature of habit, and mostly wear my pearl studs every day. Today, I wanted to share with you some pretty statement earrings that I’m loving lately for Summer (& that you can wear later). Earrings, just like shoes & a great handbag can really brighten up the classics in your closet, especially the timeless white shirt. I always like to add something fun & trendier to my outfits each season. Even if I do tend to invest in classic clothing (that’s just my style), in my opinion, you’ve still gotta have fun with your accessories!

Kate Spade drop earrings

I really like the floral coral & orange pop of color. So chic, yet so simple.

Tory Burch Geo Statement Drop Earrings

I fell in love with the mix of classic & geo design here. Amazing. A bit of a splurge, but you’ll wear these for years.

Honeymoon tassel earrings

I have a pair of longer tassel earrings, and wear them on a lot of date nights (#momlife) & special occasions, but this shorter tassel style is just as pretty, and may be a tad bit more Mom-friendly? Ha! They also come in white. Both colors are on sale right now. I prefer the navy, because you can wear them year round that way.

Beaded tassel chandelier earrings

These are so fun! Black & gold together are classic, and oh so chic!

Beaded Ball Earrings

Love this color. I also like the more tailored beaded look. They come in several colors, but the calm lagoon is my favorite.

Pop of Pink

This gingham top is so fun to dress up for Summer, especially with the pop of neon pink! And, the ruffle sleeves are pretty much my favorite finishing touch. I actually bought this top last Fall from J.Crew, and I couldn’t wait to wear it once we had our second little one. These would be just as pretty in my closet: this, this, and this top would just be a dream! If it’s the color pink, it’s sure to catch my attention. I can’t turn down a feminine top. (I don’t know who can?) I paired this top with these pants because they’re classic, and literally go with almost every top in my closet. It also looks great with these white jeans, or scallop shorts, too.

Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale – My Top Picks

Happy (almost) Friday!

I thought I’d round up a few things that I’m loving right now at the Nordstrom Sale. There are only a few days left to shop the sale. It ends on June 4th. If you haven’t shopped it before, it’s a great time to stock up on the basics as well. On a completely, random side note, I would love it if they would change the name of the sale to the “semi-annual sale.” That’s just the English Major coming out in me. Ha!

Kate Spade Camel iPhone case

This iPhone case is adorable. I love the navy color, the camel & the fact that it has a front cover/closure. If you don’t have kids yet, you’ll understand one day!

Tory Burch Wallet

I don’t need a new wallet, but if I did, this would be my first choice. Such a pretty color!

Kate Spade Watch

The bows…do you see them? The leather strap is classic, and a much softer look on your wrist for the Summer. The blush color & gold pairs well with so many outfits. You just can’t go wrong.

Sam Edelman Sandals

These sandals are a no brainer in my book. Leopard is a neutral, year round. So happy that the heel isn’t ridiculously high either. I just can’t wear heels all day like I used to… (I sound just like my Mom, but she’s right!) Ha!

Zella Up & Away Pullover

This would be a great top to throw on over your tank top after walking/running, or even to layer with this Fall. I would wear a tank top underneath it though. It also comes in white.

Seagrass Basket

I absolutely love the pom poms on this basket, so cute! We literally have these kinds of baskets all over our house (at least one in each room) to throw toys in at the end of each day. It makes me feel like I still have everything tidy at night. Even though in reality each basket is emptied, every day, in every room. If you don’t have kids yet, it’s a great basket for extra throws, dog toys, etc.
