Wednesday Wish List

Happy Wednesday, and Spring! It’s currently cold & rainy here today, but that’s not going to stop me from dreaming of warmer temperatures. And, with Easter literally right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to think about what classics to add to your closet. Easter is one of my absolute favorite holidays!

Here are a few fun things that I’m wanting/wishing to add to my closet for Spring.

J.Crew Striped Halter Jumpsuit

This halter jumpsuit is really flattering, and chic. Dress it up for a date night, or wear it with casual sandals during the daytime.

AG Jodi High Waist Crop Jeans

I really like the style of these white jeans. I love the cropped look for Spring/Summer. AG is one of the best fitting brands.

Crocheted Lace Flutter Top

This blouse is so adorable. Such an easy, breezy top to wear for everyday.

I love this poppy red color, and the design. It would be so pretty dressed up or down!

Statement Earrings

I can’t believe it has almost been a full week in July. However, I’m really excited that it’s a short work week, and the weekend will be here before we know it. This Summer is seriously flying by for us. How about you?

While I’m a creature of habit, and mostly wear my pearl studs every day. Today, I wanted to share with you some pretty statement earrings that I’m loving lately for Summer (& that you can wear later). Earrings, just like shoes & a great handbag can really brighten up the classics in your closet, especially the timeless white shirt. I always like to add something fun & trendier to my outfits each season. Even if I do tend to invest in classic clothing (that’s just my style), in my opinion, you’ve still gotta have fun with your accessories!

Kate Spade drop earrings

I really like the floral coral & orange pop of color. So chic, yet so simple.

Tory Burch Geo Statement Drop Earrings

I fell in love with the mix of classic & geo design here. Amazing. A bit of a splurge, but you’ll wear these for years.

Honeymoon tassel earrings

I have a pair of longer tassel earrings, and wear them on a lot of date nights (#momlife) & special occasions, but this shorter tassel style is just as pretty, and may be a tad bit more Mom-friendly? Ha! They also come in white. Both colors are on sale right now. I prefer the navy, because you can wear them year round that way.

Beaded tassel chandelier earrings

These are so fun! Black & gold together are classic, and oh so chic!

Beaded Ball Earrings

Love this color. I also like the more tailored beaded look. They come in several colors, but the calm lagoon is my favorite.

Mommy’s Morning Out + Banana Republic Top Picks

So, yesterday I had a babysitter (for the first time in 3 years, besides my parents), and while I was running errands, I also decided to stop in some of my favorite stores. It’s harder to try on clothes with two little ones in tow, so the majority of the time I shop online for convenience. I had so much fun trying on new things, and Banana Republic was running a huge sale, extra 50% select sale item prices! They have some really cute stuff!

On a side note, I found some really great buys for the kids, our puppy, and decor for the house at HomeGoods. Is it just me, or is that store dangerously good?! You just can’t beat their prices. I’ve even found some Kate Spade plates that I’m planning on hanging on our walls! Yes, honey, you read that correctly…more plates on the walls, and you’re the lucky guy that gets to hang them! Ha!

I took this back on a whim to the dressing room, and loved it on. It’s going to look great with shorts and white jeans. It could also easily transition with blue jeans in the Fall!

This top reminds me of the Loft top I bought a few months ago, but it’s just as pretty. It’s such a fun, dramatic top to dress up for a date night out!

Logan Fit Linen Pants

These pants are classic, and also came home with me. It’s so hard to find a linen pant that’s lined. They come in several colors, too. These will be in my closet for years. And, I didn’t even have to order a Tall, because the length is perfect as well (even with heels). I’m 5’10 for reference.

This is so cute, and such a great Summer clutch for a date night or party!

I also stopped into Kirkland’s because I had $10.00 in rewards to redeem, and they were having a huge Summer blowout sale. I grabbed this wreath for under $20.00 for our front door!

My “Momiform” for Summer

Happy Wednesday, Friends!

I hope you’re all doing well, and are trying to stay cool during this heat wave. It’s come WAY to early for my liking, but I guess Mother Nature didn’t ask me. So, cheers to surviving it in style, right?!

Below are a few of my “momiform” favorites/staples for this time of year. I may have traded my high heels (except for date nights) in for flat sandals or sneakers, and every day showers for dry shampoo, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look good while raising our little ones. Everything here is machine washable for anything that may spill on you, etc.

Linen Blouse

This top is really pretty, and it’s lightweight. I love a good blouse year round, but especially in the Summer. I like the 3/4 sleeve length too. It would be perfect with a pair of bright shorts and flats. It would also look great with a pair of crisp, white jeans.

Loft IKat Riviera Shorts

I love this ikat print. It’s classic and goes with pretty much any Summer blouse in my closet. I really like the Riviera shorts because of the 4″ inch length. Plus, I’m 5/10 and refuse to wear anything shorter with kids. This style comes in so many fun prints and patterns every year. I would be embarrassed to tell you the number of pairs I already own. They’re that good.

Modern Kick Crop Jeans

These jeans are so chic. I love the crop look for Summer. They pair really well with flats or even a kitten heel. These are a “must have” in my closet.

Gingham Split Neck Shell

This top is much cuter in person. I tried it on last weekend, and took it home with me. It is slightly longer in the back which is nice. No crop tops with kids. This is perfect with shorts, white jeans, and the list goes on.

Bow Flats

These have adorable and affordable written all over them. I always invest in at least 2 new pairs of flat sandals from Target every Summer. They look cute, but if they get worn out by the end of the season, I don’t feel badly about tossing them out. These would be easy to run after a toddler on the playground in, if needed. They also just so happen to look like a Kate Spade pair. Well done, Target, well done.

Jack Rogers Jelly Sandals

These are so fun, affordable and flat. They come in a million different colors, and you can’t ruin them in the backyard, on the playground or running errands.

St. Anne Tote

The St. Anne tote is perfect year round. I have two now. One is a baby bag, and one standard St. Anne tote. They’re perfect with kids, as I recently had a Chick fil a milkshake split on mine by accident, and it was completely wiped off in minutes, and good as new again. They are completely chic, hold everything you need, clean off easily, and you can monogram it. What gets better than that? My designer handbags/totes are in the closet unless it’s a date night/girls night out for now.

Loft Studs

I love a great pair of statement earrings; however when you’re toting the kiddos around with a random tantrum of tugging, you want to have a great pair of classic studs in your ears, trust me. Again, the statement earrings are still around, but are reserved for date nights or outings if Daddy is around to help. My go-to is a perfect pair of pearl earrings, but it’s nice to switch it up with a pretty gemstone pair every now and then.

So, these are some of my staples in my closet for surviving the heat, raising kiddos and still looking chic. What is your “momiform?”

Neutral Territory

Happy August, Everyone! I can’t believe this Summer is closing in on us. Although, I can’t say that I’m going to miss the heat wave we’ve been having, not one bit.

There’s nothing I love more than neutrals. In my opinion, you can never have too many in your closet. A lot of what I wore when I was working were neutrals. I still love them today. They’re polished, and go with everything, literally. What’s even better? Pairing neutrals together. To me, it’s incredibly chic, especially in the hot, Summer months. Linen pants are so much cooler in the Summer months, and these wide leg pants are always a flattering fit with a feminine top. This camisole’s cutout/embroidery detail is so pretty, and adds the perfect pop of contrast for this light and airy look. I also plan to make this camisole work overtime in the Fall/Winter months with cardigans and blazers, too. I typically accessorize with color; however, I thought this cashew tote was the right addition to my outfit. The best part about a neutral outfit, is that you can have a lot more fun with your jewelry. These black and white pom pom earrings didn’t have any competition when it comes to getting noticed, and that’s just want I wanted to happen.

Jack Rogers – Top Picks

Jack Rogers sandals are so much fun in the Summer months! They come in so many different bright, happy colors and styles. I really couldn’t get away with wearing them in the office, as they’re not really considered “work attire,” but now that I am a SAHM, they’re perfect. They’re chic enough for a date night, if you aren’t in the mood for wearing heels, and practical enough for everyday errands, chasing a toddler, play dates, etc.

I love the fact that you can monogram a few of their styles, and more importantly they offer different width(s) sizes. I have extremely narrow feet, so my Mom is always after me (for good reason) to wear something that “truly fits” my feet. I totally agree with her, but finding a narrow width is hard. Ok, I’ll be honest, at least it’s hard when trying to find a “cute,” narrow shoe/sandal. Well, Mom, you’d be proud, I found them.

J.Crew & Nordstrom – First Signs of Fall

This morning I received my very first J.Crew Fall email. Thank you, J.Crew. I cannot tell you how excited/relieved I am to see this today. The weather here has been insanely hot to the point that I’m starting to feel cabin fever. We step out to run an errand or two, and you feel like you need another shower – it’s that hot my friends. I am dreaming of the days that I can go outside with my little one, and feel like we can play for hours outdoors. It’s coming…soon!
I know everyone has been stocking up for Fall during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and so between browsing that sale, and getting the new Fall arrivals email from J.Crew, I told my husband I’m only shopping for Fall from now on. Or, if I see a sale rack, I am only buying items that can take me into Fall.
Call me ridiculous, but I get to a point in the Summer where I could care less about Summer clothing anymore. I know what you’re thinking…”A fashion blogger who doesn’t care about Summer clothing?” Let me correct you, I like it in the beginning of the season, it’s not that I don’t care about Summer clothing completely, it’s that I literally come alive in the Fall/Winter/Spring months. Fall/Spring fashion inspires me so much more. And, it’s not that I don’t appreciate the Summer months, because I do. I just don’t like the “dog days of Summer.” That’s when I am no longer “inspired” by Summer clothing. It becomes a matter of “surviving the last of the Summer days,” at least for me.

Let’s remember that I also have background in working in retail, and we were always way ahead of the season we were in, so talking about Fall in the Spring/Summer is totally “normal” for me. I was writing the “Fall Look Book” in the Spring.

So, here’s what I’m loving in the J.Crew New Arrivals and the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! And, here’s to dreaming about cooler temperatures and falling leaves…

Peplum Tank Top

This would look great now with a pair of white jeans, and then again in the Fall by adding a blazer/cardigan.

Merino Wool V-neck Tunic Sweater

This is an everyday staple. It comes in so many colors that you won’t get bored, and the fit is incredibly flattering for most. Add a puffer vest or a tailored coat, and you’ve got two looks, one casual, one dressy.

Excursion Quilted Down Vest

These are already backordered; however, if you can wait, it’s worth it. I wear my puffer vests (like this one above) with dresses, jeans, skinny pants and workout clothes. This is a very versatile piece.

Dragonfly Earrings

These are really pretty, and a fun addition to a Fall outfit, or even now. I love any combination of pink and green. I will be waiting for these to go on sale, but definitely a pair to add to my jewelry collection.

Both of these pointy toe flats are staples for Fall. I love the pale pink color because it will go with so many outfits, and the animal print is a no brainer for me. I LOVE the price tag, too.

This sweater is adorable, and I love the pleated hemline. I may have to order this one in the navy/black combination. This would look perfect with skinny pants and denim.

Loving Lately

Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope y’all had a great weekend! We sure did, and I’m not going to lie, I did need a “vacation” after our entertaining all weekend. Our guests left Monday morning, and I was beyond tired. Four days of entertaining was fun, but add taking care of a toddler and cooking and cleaning every meal, it gets pretty tiring, pretty fast! Moving right along…

Here are a few things that I’m loving lately/have my eyes on right now!

Factory Suede Kitten Heels

These kitten heels are the perfect height, especially for a Mom. Chic, yet practical. I can see wearing these well into the Fall. They come in a pretty pink and classic black, too.

Factory Tassel Fringe Pendant Necklace

I really love this necklace. I love the combination of the pink, white and black beads. The tassel top is just plain fun, too. I would wear this with almost everything in my closet.

Eyelet Sleeve Tee Dress

You can never have too many LBD’s or LWD’s. I really like the eyelet sleeve detail on this one. A great date night dress. And, it’s on sale!

Striped Dolman-Sleeve Shirttail Tee

As a busy Mom, I want to look put together, but things have to be comfortable too. This stripe top would look great with shorts, white jeans or regular denim as well.

V-Neck Sweater

A v-neck sweater. I love this navy color (comes in several colors), and it’s perfect to transition into Fall. Can you tell what season I’m really shopping for these days? Fall.

Factory Multistrand Pearl Necklace

I’m sure it’s no surprise to you by now that I love pearls. This necklace has been on my list to add to my collection for far too long. My incredibly stylish Grandmother passed down her pearls to me that I adore and wear on very special occasions, but this necklace would be a great everyday option that I didn’t worry about as much. Plus, this necklace is on sale, too!

Factory Racerback Camisole

This camisole is so comfortable and chic worn alone or layered underneath a blazer or cardigan. I have it in cream, but I’m thinking about this pink color now. These would be great year round in your closet.
