This is so gorgeous. The “poppy” color is my favorite. It also comes in black.

Halogen Poplin Peplum Top

This peplum top is darling. It’s great to wear now, and for layering in the Fall/Winter.

This sweater comes in several colors, but I love the grey. It would look so cute with jeans and leggings for something more casual. I can see myself wearing this to preschool drop-off, a lot.

Another classic skinny jean, under $100 (during the sale!).

Hinge Barris Block Heel bootie

This is the first bootie that I actually have fallen for this year. It’s a low heel (which is nice, since I’m 5’10), and the cut is timeless. I see this pair in my future.

Kate Spade New York Watch

This watch is stunning, and the two-tone is perfect. My wedding set is white gold, but I wear my grandmother’s engagement ring which is gold and platinum on my right hand. This watch is a classic in my book.

Tahari Maria Double Face Wool Wrap Coat

This coat is beautiful, and will go with everything you wear. Dress it up or down.

Ted Baker London Wool Blend Wrap Coat

Coats are my weakness. This wrap coat is absolutely stunning, and will be in your closet for years to come.

I love, love, LOVE this handbag. It comes in 3 colors, but the blush is calling my name.

I keep coming back to these jeans. I really like the staggered raw hem for something different. You can totally dress these up or down depending on where you’re headed.

J.Crew & Nordstrom – First Signs of Fall

This morning I received my very first J.Crew Fall email. Thank you, J.Crew. I cannot tell you how excited/relieved I am to see this today. The weather here has been insanely hot to the point that I’m starting to feel cabin fever. We step out to run an errand or two, and you feel like you need another shower – it’s that hot my friends. I am dreaming of the days that I can go outside with my little one, and feel like we can play for hours outdoors. It’s coming…soon!
I know everyone has been stocking up for Fall during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and so between browsing that sale, and getting the new Fall arrivals email from J.Crew, I told my husband I’m only shopping for Fall from now on. Or, if I see a sale rack, I am only buying items that can take me into Fall.
Call me ridiculous, but I get to a point in the Summer where I could care less about Summer clothing anymore. I know what you’re thinking…”A fashion blogger who doesn’t care about Summer clothing?” Let me correct you, I like it in the beginning of the season, it’s not that I don’t care about Summer clothing completely, it’s that I literally come alive in the Fall/Winter/Spring months. Fall/Spring fashion inspires me so much more. And, it’s not that I don’t appreciate the Summer months, because I do. I just don’t like the “dog days of Summer.” That’s when I am no longer “inspired” by Summer clothing. It becomes a matter of “surviving the last of the Summer days,” at least for me.

Let’s remember that I also have background in working in retail, and we were always way ahead of the season we were in, so talking about Fall in the Spring/Summer is totally “normal” for me. I was writing the “Fall Look Book” in the Spring.

So, here’s what I’m loving in the J.Crew New Arrivals and the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! And, here’s to dreaming about cooler temperatures and falling leaves…

Peplum Tank Top

This would look great now with a pair of white jeans, and then again in the Fall by adding a blazer/cardigan.

Merino Wool V-neck Tunic Sweater

This is an everyday staple. It comes in so many colors that you won’t get bored, and the fit is incredibly flattering for most. Add a puffer vest or a tailored coat, and you’ve got two looks, one casual, one dressy.

Excursion Quilted Down Vest

These are already backordered; however, if you can wait, it’s worth it. I wear my puffer vests (like this one above) with dresses, jeans, skinny pants and workout clothes. This is a very versatile piece.

Dragonfly Earrings

These are really pretty, and a fun addition to a Fall outfit, or even now. I love any combination of pink and green. I will be waiting for these to go on sale, but definitely a pair to add to my jewelry collection.

Both of these pointy toe flats are staples for Fall. I love the pale pink color because it will go with so many outfits, and the animal print is a no brainer for me. I LOVE the price tag, too.

Chelsea Pleated Hem Sweater

This sweater is adorable, and I love the pleated hemline. I may have to order this one in the navy/black combination. This would look perfect with skinny pants and denim.

I hope y’all are looking forward to a relaxing weekend ahead. I know we sure are! We have little to no plans right now, and that’s fine by us. We’ll probably head to our favorite pancake place tomorrow morning with our little one, and “go with the flow” the rest of the weekend.

Even though I am so ready for Fall, I love this camisole below from J.Crew’s new arrivals. It’s currently 30% off with the code “GOSHOPPING.” The ruffle hemline is timeless. Anthropologie – Top Picks

Anthropologie is what I would call “boho chic.” I really love some of their styles. I prefer shopping in the store more than online, because no matter what direction you turn there’s always something incredibly pretty to see. It’s a peaceful and inspiring store. Sometimes the mainstream gets boring, so Anthropologie fills my closet with the creative/unique pieces that I sometimes crave to have instead of the traditional pieces (which I still love).

They’re currently running a summer tag sale (select items up to 50% off), so I thought I would give you my top picks from the sale.

Mitered Stripe Peplum Top

This top is simply gorgeous. Love the bow finish.

Eyelet Empire Blouse

You can never have too many eyelet tops in the Summer. The pleated empire drop waist is a pretty twist on what would be an otherwise ordinary top.

This pullover would be welcome in my closet. Perfect paired with white denim, and would be great for traveling year round.

I literally love this suit. The ruffle detail sold me. I haven’t had a new swimsuit since our honeymoon in Aruba (eek – that was 5 years ago). The one piece would be great now that I am a Mom.

I wasn’t a fan of the jumpsuits until now. This is very sleek and modern. I prefer a solid jumpsuit to a print/patterned one. This one is perfect for the Spring/Summer.

Tall Linen Wide Leg Trousers

I have never been disappointed with their tall pants. White linen pants in the Summer is a must for me. So timeless, and the wide leg is very chic paired with a more fitted top.

Striped Sailor Riviera Shorts

You can’t go wrong with the sailor style. I still have a few sailor J.Crew shorts from when I was wait for it…17 years old. The yellow color is different and so happy. I love how the “Riviera” style fits, as the length is also very Mom-friendly!

Elephant Riviera Shorts

I own these and love them. I would wear them everyday if I could. Ok, maybe not everyday, but a lot. The elephant print is adorable. The navy color is perfect to pair with pink, lighter blues, neutrals, and even green tops. Lots of outfit options.

Abstract Riviera Shorts

The orange/pink color screams Summer time. You could pair these with classic button ups, tees or even a dressy blouse!

Banded Sandals

These are a great neutral, everyday sandal. I like the coral version, too. Flats are a must when chasing a little one around.

J.Crew Factory Sale

Happy Monday, Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend, I know we sure did! And, as hard as Mondays can be, J.Crew Factory just made it a little bit brighter!
