I’m so glad to see Friday! What are your plans for this weekend?

I think (fingers crossed) we’ll back to normal around our house for the weekend. Well, that is until next Tuesday when our granite gets delivered, and then our backsplash will go in after that…I’m literally giddy with excitement! It’s so worth the disruption in our routine/life. I’m pretty sure my husband’s just as giddy he’s not the one doing all of the painting.
I’ll also be crossing off one of my “to-do’s on my list. Thank you notes. I was raised to write thank you notes for every birthday and Christmas. So, I’ll be tackling our Christmas thank you notes this weekend. I always feel so relieved once I’ve taken the time to thank those who put thought and time into a gift for me. It doesn’t take long at all, and I know it’s appreciated. Then, I feel I can enjoy the gift that much more. Do you still write thank you notes, too?

I apologize for the radio silence over here, as we’ve been busy fighting a cold, and have just been super busy taking care of all sorts of fun things. More on that later.
Either way, I hope that you’re enjoying your Friday so far, and really hope y’all have a happy, happy weekend. It’s supposed to rain here all weekend (but be sunny all next week…thank goodness!), so we’ll be doing things around the house and playing a lot! I may try my hand at a few new Fall recipes, and if they turn out well, I’ll share them next week.

This week has flown by, and I sure am happy to see the weekend. We have been doing so many projects around the house on the weekends (like finishing the play room, entertaining, hanging a new foyer fixture, and just cleaning stuff out that we’ve been needing to do for years), that I’m now wanting to take a break from projects and just relax for a little while. I know my husband is happy to hear that, too. Don’t get me wrong, I am a type A person that likes staying busy and accomplishing a lot of things, but sometimes we all need a break. I think I’ve just reached that point.
We’re looking forward to playing with our little one in the pool and in our backyard, shooting an outfit post, church, and having brunch with some friends!

This week was the exact opposite of last week for me. Did it fly by for you? I cannot believe it’s already Friday, but I’m not complaining. I do apologize for the lack of blog posts…the time just simply got away from me this week. I had great intentions of sitting down during my second cup of coffee (once my little one was asleep during naptime), and other things just kept taking my attention away from blogging. I’ll be back next week, and have tons of great posts for you.

If you’re searching for a great recipe to make this weekend, make this Mexican casserole. It is amazing, and everyone gobbled it up (even the little one!). I also may try and make this Kentucky Butter Cake recipe for our Father’s Day celebration/brunch on Sunday.

Who’s glad to see Friday? I know I sure am. I was all mixed up on my days this week for some odd reason. Yesterday, I thought it was Friday almost all day – talk about a major let down when I realized it was only Thursday.

I am kicking off my weekend with a hair appointment this morning (yay!), then planning on having a low key weekend with my little family! I do have a few t0-do’s like planting a few pretty hydrangeas, finishing up some thank you notes, as well as taking care of some other odds and ends around the house. Either way, it will be a fun, fun weekend spent with the ones I love.
